Betty L. Cook age 88 of rural Redkey passed away Friday October 5th in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare with her husband Lawrence by her side. She was born in Salt Lick, Kentucky September 30, 1930 the daughter of Hobart and Mattie (Sutton) Staton. She was married June 29, 1951 to Lawrence Cook who survives. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and gardening. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, loved teaching the Bible and enjoyed Bible study.

Surviving are her husband Lawrence, two sons David Cook of Upland and Rodger Cook (wife Cindy) of Redkey, one daughter Jeanne Pilotte (husband Steve) of Groton, Connecticut, one brother Melborn Staton of Janesville, Wisconsin, two sisters Etta Bower and Violet Keener both of Fort Wayne. She enjoyed spending time with her eight grandchildren Arlena Cook, Melissa Morris, Michelle Cox, Sarah Westgerdes, Jessica Robinson, Joshua Lash, Elizabeth (Izzy) Lash and Lawrence Lash. Sixteen great grandchildren and Two step-Grandchildren Chad and Megan.

Funeral Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM in the Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Hugh Kelly presiding. Visitation will be from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at the church.
