James Landfair age 97 of Portland passed away Tuesday morning in IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born in Chattanooga, Ohio October 22, 1920 the son of Stanley and Mable (Duff) Landfair. He was married May 20, 1972 to Margaret Gigandet who survives. He served with the US Navy during WWII. He was retired from United Telephone Company and was a carpenter and auto body repairman. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Surviving are his wife Margaret, three sons Kent Landfair (wife Diane) of Portland, Phil Landfair (wife Beth) of Troy, Ohio and Victor Landfair (wife Trae) of Indianapolis, two daughters Cheryl Landfair of Portland and Diane Loomis (husband Michael) of Union City, IN. Nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Sunday October 14th at 4:00 PM. in the Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Ward presiding. The family will receive guests from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
