Marlys A. Saxman age 76 of Redkey passed away Monday evening at her residence. She was born in Eagle Bend, MN the daughter of Burns and Elizabeth (Ohman) Ross. She was married September 6, 1958 to Paul Saxman and he died September 9, 2013. She was owner and operator of Saxman Auction Barn, Saxman's Boarding Kennels, dog groomer for over 50 years, worked at Redkey Veterinary Clinic and drove school bus for 17 years. She was a member of Central Indiana Boxer Association.
Surviving are two sons Bradley Saxman of Redkey and William Saxman (wife Misty) of Portland, two sisters Sandy Casari of California and Charlene Holley of Lafayette, brother in law Doug Saxman of Redkey, sister in law Clela Saxman of Yorktown and four grandchildren Collin, Abigail, Grace and Sophia and her beloved pets Izzy and Winnie.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Davis presiding. Burial will be in the Stateline Cemetery. Visitation will be Fridayfrom 11:00 – 1:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society.
