Viola I. Byrum age 94, 430 South Wayne Street Portland passed away Tuesday morning at her residence. She was born in Portland September 30, 1922 the daughter of James and Martha (Harford) Garringer. She was married June 22, 1941 to Ezra Byrum and he died March 12, 2014. She was a homemaker and had worked for the Jay County Hospital and Anchor Hocking. She attended First Church of the Nazarene and was a Saratoga High School graduate.
Surviving are three sons Darrell Byrum (wife Debbie) of Warsaw, Richard Byrum (wife Diane) of Portland and Jerry Byrum (wife Angie) of Portland, Three daughters Janice Fisher (husband John) of Portland, Glenda Votaw (husband Doug) of Portland and Rhea Holcomb (husband David) of Portland, Twenty six grandchildren, Sixty four great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday the 8th at 10:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Hugh Kelly presiding. Visitation will be one hour prioir to services. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Shriners Childrens Hospital.
